Bitcoin Stock Trading Experiment – 8th July Orders

8th July 2015

As discussed here I am trying out a service provided by First Global Credit to trade stocks using my bitcoins as margin. I will be running a real-time experiment and will publish the results here. If you want more timely trade execution information I will tweet the fills when they are executed.

Orders: Opening Trades Executed as Stop Entry Orders. Closing Orders entered MOC (I usually do mine around 15 minutes to the close as there is no MOC facility). For trend positions I don’t use the Position Stop facility (which I leave at a very low number so it’s never triggered). I use the Stop Entry order so I can see the explicit stop (I checked and it does have the same effect of closing any position before opening a new position).

Today we are closing our positions in HNT and SLAB unless they close above pivot highs. As we start the day with just 8 non-trend positons we can open new positions.

HNT needs to close above 65.33 for us to keep the position.

SLAB needs to close above 58.54 for us to keep our position

Note:- Closing orders also have a trigger level. If the market looks like it will close above this level (for long positions) or below this level (for short positions) then the trade is not exited on the close and switches to a trending position and is held with a trailing stop.
